The Academy of International Business (AIB) will hold its annual conference in Seoul in July.
The upcoming meeting, its 66th edition, will mark the second time that Seoul will host the event after the 1995 meeting. The conference will run for four days from July 2 under the theme “The Dynamics of International Business.”
Mirae Asset Financial Group Chairman and founder Park Hyeon-joo will feature as a keynote speaker on July 3.
Park was named the winner of the International Executive of the Year Award by the AIB in December of last year. He is the second Korean to receive the award after the late SK Chairman Chey Jong-hyun, who was honored in 1995.
Park was recognized for his achievement in spearheading Mirae Asset’s global expansion, according to the company. The International Executive of the Year Award is one of the three major annual honors given by the AIB, along with International Educator of the Year and John Fayerweather Eminent Scholar of the Year.
The AIB, founded in 1959, is a Michigan-headquartered association of international business scholars and specialists with about 3,400 members from over 90 countries across the world. Deputy Minister for Trade Yang Byung-nae is scheduled to feature in a session on July 4, according to the organization.
